Immediately after earning his CPA certification in 1969, Walter Virden III, founded the firm Walter Virden III CPA, opened an office in Arlington, Texas and established a reputation as a trusted advisor. In 1970 the firm joined the Texas Society of CPAs and has maintained its status since that time. In the ensuing years, the firm has developed prominent practice in accounting, financial reporting, income tax planning and preparation, compilations and reviews, payroll and sales tax preparation, retirement and estate planning, business consulting, and software consulting.

During the early years, Walter Virden III CPA strengthened its accounting practice by hiring Anneta Chapman in 1977. Chapman, who earned her CPA certification in 1982, has practiced as a CPA for the firm since then. The firm continued to grow, and after earning his CPA in 1997, Walter Virden IV also joined the firm. In 1999, the three professionals formed the partnership, Virden Chapman & Virden, PLLC, and the entity has continued to serve it expanding client base in the Arlington and the surrounding Metroplex.

As a firm, we strive to provide professional services to our clients in a proficient manner, and we keep abreast of the latest advancements and evolving technologies. We maintain an extensive library, including the Internal Revenue Code, tax court opinions and IRS regulations. In addition to the firm membership in the Texas Society of CPAs, all three CPA partners maintain membership in the American Institute of CPAs and the Texas Society of CPAs. To ensure technical proficiency the firm participates in the peer review evaluation process for Compilation and Review Services, and each partner averages 40 hours of coursework in Continuing Professional Education annually.
